how do I remotely administer the server from my macbook? are there any neat programs out there or do I need to use the console? what about media controls?

also, I'm going to start hosting torrents, so what's the best program to use for that?

some people say transmission, but you have more control with azureus for torrents.

    apple remote desktop is, yes.

Its probably overkill for what you are doing. Look into chicken of the vnc (client) and OSXVnc (server)

The apple remote desktop client built into OSX is a VNC server. You can connect with chicken of the VNC. No need to install anything.

can I just say that as a recent convert to macs that the all-mac setup I have right now is probably the best setup I have ever had and that it took zero time at all.

Well I got a DVI-to-HDMI adapter from firefold and now it's sitting in my living room hooked up to the HDTV in all it's goodness. I love this goddamn setup. Now I can control everything from my macbook using Remote Desktop. It pretty much rocks.

Are there any other cool things I can do with this thing? So far I've backed up all my stuff, set up oink hosting, and just been playing music with itunes through my stereo.
