So now that I've got this AR, what are the general recommendations for upgrades for it? I don't plan on trying to turn it into an uber sniper rifle or anything like that, but I would like to get better than stock performance out of it, good enough to handle well at a match. So far all I've done is added the rear MBUS and picked up a couple PMAGs.

And yes, I'm sure this thread will be full of "You need to get this" and "Only homos get that, get this instead". I'm just needing some choices to decide from.

a rail, sling, VFG and some type of optic are all things you can look at getting. i'd recommend that you try some out before dropping cash to see what you like.

go to some matches and shoot it until you suck less, then worry about "upgrades"

don't do anything else until you put a TR24 on it.

This. If you're new to ARs or shooting in general, your rifle will most likely out-shoot you. I wouldn't worry about upgrades for now, just ammo and range time. Optics are very nice but knowing how to use irons at longer ranges is an important skill that will help develop good habits when you shoot optics later on.

Already plan on shooting it plenty before anything major, and trying shit out before wasting money on shit that does me no good. I have had a bit of experience with the AR platform already, having spent a few years in the Army. Been 7 years since I've shot a M4, but I think it'll all come back to me pretty quick with the amount of trigger time I had back then.

One of the best upgrades I've found is trigger work. It helps a lot at close range and long range. I've had mine worked over by Bill Springfield but there are a lot of other drop in trigger units as well.

the decision is clear. you have the gun, you have some ammo.
Commit suicide. It takes two bullets if you're a bad enough operator.

Like I said, it's been 7 years since I've fired one of these.

I'll load 3 rounds, just in case.

That's one thing I was already looking at, after somebody linked his site earlier. Does the trigger work really make a big difference? It seems like if I'm gonna do that, it should be early on my to do list.

Sell it now before it gets banned and is taken from you. At least you can get some of your money back instead of NOTHING.

no question about it, I've had him do three triggers now, and it's worth every penny.
quick turn around too, he's had them done and back in the mail to me on the same day he got them.

  20. Don't answer that mstad! It's a trap. He asked me the same thing and then followed me into the bathroom later and tried to "clean it out" for me.
