Oriental rules you can do more stuff, judo throws are allowed and you can knee the chest and stomache. In american kick boxing rules you cant do as much. Its like comparing K1 rules to muay thai rules.

The following weight division apply to men and women in the:
    1).
    American Kickboxing Division
    2).
    Chinese Kickboxing (San Shou)
    3).
    Muay Thai Kickboxing Division
    4).
    Contact Karate Division

I guess I dont know the sanshou rules to well. My freind has fought oriental rules before and its bassically the muay thai rules with some restrictions here and there because its amature. shin guards face masks no elbows.

I doubt it's san shou because it'd be 1 minute rounds. Doesn't K-1 already allow knees to the body?

I think you should seriously go to the next san shou tournament in your city for a good laugh. I'm absolutely serious lol. I am totally going to the next one in may here because sometimes it's like watching a school yard fight where people are just flailing like mofos. Good times.
