what kind of clamps are you using? i've heard of weights slipping off when the DB's are uneven (like "cleaning" them for DB incline bench).

Nice! I can think of one potential problem. If you put some 25s on there the DBs will be so big that your ROM will be shortened.

haah well my point was just one plate with a larger diameter than a standard rubber DB would decrease your ROM. I am assuming the biggest plate he would put on there would be a 25 not that he would use just one 25. :)

I went to Dick's today and bought the same pair. slapping a pair of 25s on there only changes the ROM by 1inch. not too bad :)

    Very true... worse with 45s.

I have dbs up to 50lbs at home, and then the db bars for olympic weights. Very difficult to do a lot of the same exercises that I could do with standard db's.

The alternative would be standard plates, vs olympic plates. I already own 400 or so lbs of olympic weights, however, and not going to invest in a totally different set just yet.

Werd. they are very awkward to get into position and are a little harder to stabilize. The most annoying thing is that they are so wide it makes seated shoulder presses very awkward because they are always hitting each other on the way up. Other than that they have done the trick for me and I've gotten used to them.
