Ordered up a dell 2208WFP and it came in this afternoon. Neither of my computers likes it. :hsugh:

Looks like hell on my old desktop but it'll actually run the full resolution. As a second on my laptop and at full resolution it sits shifted way to the right... :hs:

Need to see if I can find drivers for the laptop - doubt it's worth even bother on the desktop.

    Desktop is a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 64. 32MB
    Laptop is onboard meh...

it's in the menu. It has to be a driver issue on the laptop.. position works fine for the desktop.

LCD's take some tweaking to get them to look right.

The old video card isn't doing you any favors, either.

Jesus. That video card is ancient. There's no way it has enough RAM to run your screen at full resolution and at 24-bit color.

Figure out what kinds of slots your computer has and report back.

As for the laptop, it's a driver issue. The laptop doesn't know what resolutions your new LCD supports, so it defaults to using the standard ones. Which won't work with your widescreen LCD.

Also, try pressing the "Auto" button on your LCD to have it auto-center the picture coming from your laptop. You should really use the DVI hookup if it's an option, because it takes care of the timing and centering and all that for you. The picture is also clearer through DVI.

    :rofl::rofl:
I know, it's junk. I don't care what it has for slots in it.... it's here for a second machine and that's it. Was going to add RAM to it until I realized that it won't accept more than 512mb. Use it for downloading torrents if anything these days. I did watch Prison Break again on it through the desktop and it doesn't look 'horrible'..

Tried new the new driver I could find and it didn't do it. I'll do some more digging tomorrow for drivers. Says it supports the resolution/rate but it's still shifting it.

Tried the auto on the LCD. moves around a big and goes right back to where it was.

No DVI out of the laptop to go that route. Looking forward to having a DVI source though because I'm betting it'll look great (looks good now - just need to do some tweaking).

But yeah, would like to get it to work with the systems I have now but it doesn't break my heart if it doesn't. Start spec'ing out a new system tomorrow I guess.

That's weird. Well, if "Auto" doesn't work, you can always adjust it manually.

it won't move far enough to be right. It's shifted a good bit.

Does the laptop display properties show the proper resolution as an option?
