got the 14.1 inch ibook today. top of the line ibook, and i asked for 512DDR RAM total. salesperson goes and gets the laptop and memory comes back we start the sale. they state that they will install the ram for me, FOR FREE. so i go ok, sure why not, they're apple, they know what they are doing. Little did i know when i got home tonight and finally turned it on, after about 2-5 secs at the Main OS X screen, the system shuts down. so i looked at some stuff, and i found my way to the empty RAM box. Turns out they installed an additional 256 DDR as i asked, BUT not the 266DDR that is needed for an ibook, but instead the 333DDR that is used for the Powerbook. :wtf: Now i have to drive another 40miles back to the nearest apple store tomorrow and get them to fix the shit, i mean really WTF? why didnt they know this?

the 333 is better, u should be happy

the 333 they gave u should just drop down to 266 automatically

if it is the memory, it could just be a bad stick. it happens.
