A long-awaited upgrade from my G4/400. It was to the point where shit was so slow it was unbearable.

It's simple, but does exactly what I need.

Yeah, I considered getting a Mac Pro or an iBook, but then I sat down and thought about what I actually do with the computer and all of it can be easily accomplished with a Mini.

i got an old pc that i used in college in for video editing needs, but now that i have a job (i graduated a couple years back), only thing i use my desktop for is dvd copying/paying bills. I use my ibook 90% of the time, so i figured a nice little mini can handle the dvd copying/paying bills...

get rid of this beast of a machine that sounds like a 747

this morning on their refurb site they had the 1.8something core duo, superdrive, 1gb ram, either 80-120gb hd for like 479. it said it was like 47% off retail. i saw it this morning and now they're sold out

i wouldnt mind getting a refurb of the 2.0 c2d they have out now. damn, i wish apple would have a lower priced entry mac pro like back in the day when they had a 1499 g5 model

:werd: I still think apple could do well by offering a mac similar to the mac pro, just with scaled back features (iMac sans integrated LCD). I really want to get a mac mini or something close to that size with a dedicated video card (not necessarily for gaming) and a second dvi port. I have two monitors and I dont want one to go to waste.

I  my 1.83GHz C2D, 1GB, 80GB HDD Mini. I am much happier with it than my 3.6GHz C2D, 4GB ram, 8800GTS PC i sold for this thing.
Only problem is that it can get a little too choppy in full screen cover flow.
