Cool how do you like that lense?

I'm on the verge of getting the same camera.

Where did you get yours? $$$?

Any other comments or things you like/don;t like about it yet?

    Thanks

Its a horrible lens compared to other canon lenses, even non L series, but your pics show suppringly good DOF and color saturation.

body only should be 899, the kit should be 999 based on a standard 15 points of margin for canon slr's. My discount would probably get about 65-80 off, but I'm saving for the 10d for now.

I like the basketball shot :dunno:

My brother is looking at getting the rebel digital, and we already have canon rebel G's and promaster lenses... I'm going to get a new lens that we can use.. (then I get access to the camera)..

I'd like to get the 10D though once I get some bills paid down...

i got my digital rebel on sunday, and have been so busy i haven't had much time to play with it (and it's dark when i go to work, and dark when i get home)...

and the weather this weekend is supposed to be shit too, so i don't know if i'll take it to the race...

I don't know shit about art, but i like the basketball hoop shot

yeah the lens is surprisingly good for being a POS-comes-with-a-kit lens...
    i was really expecting worse

the kit was $999 from pcconnection.com, my brother did the ordering for me (i just had NO time at all during last week) and he said they were incredible to deal with..

the only gripe i have right now is that the flash card is really slow when transfering stuff into the computer, but i think its because im using the USB connector in the camera directly on the PC, im going to try to find a flash card reader that uses firewire or something...

[old british lady's voice] and remember pinkies out [/old british lady's voice]

you better hold on to that thing better. I highly recomend the canon hand/wrist strap. I never even use the neck strap anymore.

Hoe much didi the vertical grip run you? I've already got the one for my d30, which will work on the 10d, but apparently not the rebel.

obviously my brother is holding it in a way to NOT obscure any part of the camera..for the picture's purpose..

I know, just messing with ya. If that the "Big ed" BG-e1 that holds 2 BP-511 batteries, than you could get 1000+ pics out of it. I personally love it on my d30 becuase it has the extra shutter release for easier vertical pictures. It just feels better holding it too. It does make it bulkier and considerably heavier, but balances heavier lenses out nicely. It also has an extra metal loop to use the canon hand strap with.
