gotta love south dakota - $10 and 5 minutes to get a permit, and it's got reciprocity with about 20 other states.

i probably won't actually carry very much - maybe in my car depending on where i'm going, or on my person if i'm hiking or heading up into the hills (the most likely scenario where i'd use it would be an encounter with a mountain lion, since they're all over the place up here). still, i figured it's better to have it just in case.

It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I wish it was that cheap and easy to get one here in Colorado.

I just don't tell people. My sister in law always tells me not to carry in her house. I just smile and nod then do it anyway. She still hasn't noticed.

Why would people know? If Wisconsin ever gets it's act together, or if I lived in another state, I probably wouldn't tell anyone except my girlfriend and my family I carried. You'd just avoid a lot of hassle that way.

I'm guessing you now live in South Dakota? Packing.org says they don't offer non-resident permits. and your location says TX, so something doesn't jive.

Obviously, if he had to load a round in the chamber first, he would have never shot himself. :slap:
