    He got me my activation code via email in less than 24 hours. He had me send him my serial number so that he could check it before he sent me the code because he said he had a problem with someone trying to return an activation code.

    Thought I'd share because it worked great for me since I didn't want to pay $349 for AppleCare.

    I seen this the other day but it seemed kind of sketchy. Good to know it went smoothly!

    Only the MBP one is around 50% off, but that is still $50+ more expensive than ebay.

    Not quite. There is no percentage off of Apple Care. It's a set dollar amount per item.

    MacBook Pro -> $349 -> $239
    MacBook -> $239 -> $183
    iMac -> $169 -> $119
    Mac Mini -> $149 -> $99
    Mac Pro -> $249 -> $199

    I might purchase this... will my warranty be void if I replaced my LCD screen by myself?

    I'm pretty sure you can replace your memory and hard drive without impacting your applecare.

    I think this is true only for unibody mac's. On the older ones, you can only replace memory w/o voiding warranty.

    So... if my MBP is 1,75 years old, and the DVD burner doesn't work anymore.. I could buy applecare for $180 and not have to pay the $550 to fix the superdrive?

    You have to buy/activate AppleCare within your one-year warranty, so you guys are SOL :hs:

    $186 is a good price, I paid $250 from LA Computer Company...
