I need to get the pics of the 8.8 sitting next to my 8.25 that my friend took, but this axle is so much bigger than the one I pulled out.

The 4.10's are amazing compared to the craptacular 3.07's I had, the Jeep can spin the tires through 1st and 2nd now.

    Best upgrade evar

coolio ... but why didnt you go with a D44 ... they are bolt in with no mids whatso ever and came with 410s and most had at least a LSD .... aftermarket support is greater for the D44 too ...

just wondering, not trying to be an ass ...

great job though, now lets see some pics.

Becuase I found a bolt in 8.8 for 400 bucks

It was under an XJ already, the guy got rear ended and the ins. co totalled it, he bought it back and was parting out... much better deal than the prices I found on XJ44's here...

The 8.8 has huge a/m support as well, since it sits under late model V8 Mustangs.

I'm not sure. Mine's originally from an Exploder though, its 31 spline.

ahh .. werd ... i was going to say you just wasted some time by replacing a 27 spline witha 28 spline lol ... but the explorer 8,8 is what you want. nice.

    Pics....

Hey all. Finally finished my 8.8 swap by redoing the front with some 3/4" coil spacers to even the Jeep out.. and a 4.10 geared front axle to match the rear.

I'm happy with me 44 in the rear, but I need to get rid of my 30 up front. SO I've been waiting for some extra cash to buy my axle before I re-gear, and lock the front.
I need to do that shiat soon though.

What size tires are you running that you want to get rid of the 30 up front?

I mean yeah, its not the greatest axle out there, but the bolt in 44's for newer Jeeps still retain the weak link of the 30's.

Yeah, 30 was what I ment.
Right now I have 33's, but I'm going to 35's (maybe 36's) soon. I know that there is not to much of a difference between the 30 and the 44, but I have a pretty cool shop and a ridiculous warranty, so if I break something and can get even close to being able to say it's a factory part it'll get fixed for $100.
    So a 44 it is.

i doubt you wheel hard enough to break the 30. especially with only 35s. keep the 30 save money and have the internals cryod (like $6 a lb)

Going to 35's in two weeks... and I wheel pretty hard. But I'm not going to swap it till I break it. I've got a very nice supplemental warranty and my ride.. :bigthumb:
