Josh, I really like that upload script that you distobuted... but somebody haxed it, like all my others...

    I recently got an email:

    Im like... Oh shit...

So i take a look at my FTP and find where they are talking about. Hmm, Simple fix eh? Tried to delete... Access Denied... Tried to rename/move/open..... Access Denied. Went into CPanel... Managed to delete the files... But wait... They COME BACK?

So im like fuck it... i submit a ticket to my web host saying hey, i got haxed... fix it.

2-3 hours later... i finally get a response saying...
So now i am removing all the shit so they will reinstate my domain to working order... only to find a new use for it...

Whats the point of having an unlimited storage/bandwidth... if all you can put on them is web pages...

    CLIFFS:
    I get haxed (again)
    hack is Phishing Scam
    Try to remove, cant....
    call tech supp
they help and tell me no more... "Against TOS"

    Cliffs on CLiffs
    I get haxed
    my domain gets disabled
    Unlimited is bull shit.

read the small print man, most places do not allow uploader sites on a shared server, it has been posted in here many a time too, so while you want to blame the host, you are also to blame for not reading what the host will allow and not allow

:noes: im so fucking nervous now. i think im using josh's uploader, AND i have surpasshosting...

how did you get hacked though? was it legit hack or they figured out your password?

but i dont think im a true uploader, the images are uploaded by people but are meant to only be seen through the site, is that an uploader still? regardless i asekd the fuckers before i signed up if i could do this and they said its ok.

    Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (BlackBerry8120/4.5.0.124 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

    howd you know?

And I asked them specifically for the 1 dollar plan... I'm more scared for the hacking though.

    How can I avoid that?

They arent going to just shut you down out of the blue unless you are using like excessive bandwidth or shit...

The only reason they stopped me is cause i brought their attention to it... They havent said anything about the other scripts and proxies on my account... And im going to keep my mouth shut.. Until that is i have another problem with hackers...

because i signed up for it and never used it because i read the terms

and there is more about what is allowed to be uploaded or what not, i was told by a rep of theirs is that since it was a $1 for the whole year, they monitor those accounts closely and weed out them pretty fast

so i knew i would be shut down quickly and decided not to mess with it

im so sick of hacks, most of them on my sites are from unpatched wordpress installs.
i deleted every fucking one of them and now i suspect that my shared host is the culprit.
Switching everything over to my dedi box soon.

nope, just impressed by the service an oter provides

if this was about custom made stickers and shit i would be talking up urbangreenz

and if it was cables i would talk up firefold, but if an oter's business gives great service i will talk them up, and there are other oters that love the customer service that bounceweb gives, i have yet had any other web hosting company call about an open ticket to help someone walk through it

I am not sure what 'Joshs Script' is really but it seems you have an exploit somewhere and are going to keep having issues until you get it patched. The answer is not deleting the offending files

I am really surprised your host has not told you where the exploit is as I would be more interested in finding out exactly what happened and if it is a widely used script ensuring no other users are running it.

I also have the belief that unless you don't care about your site being down now and then and having issues you should not be going with $1 anything, also if you actually use any traffic it is probably a smart idea or stay away from any host that offers 'unlimited' anything and there is always a way they can disable you hidden in their ToS somewhere that will get you shut down should you actually use anything more than a tiny blip of resources.
