    All over this thread
    http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=474002

The guy says he NEEDED a MkIII to take that picture and then I, and other people, told him he could have done the same thing for a lot less money. Him and his sackriders come back in with the whole "omg but it wouldnt be 6400 iso" argument :hsugh:

    Fun fun.

Anyone else been banned from there?

even resized down, that does look really good for ISO 6400, though I don't see what's so special about that pic.

the ISO performance difference between the 1D MkIII and the 40D is huge.

Neither do I. He sold his 40D to afford the MkIII and I was just saying he could have kept the 40D, bought a 35 1.4 and came out with more money in his pocket and a better picture on his screen.

that last line could be taken as a small stab to the groin if you know what I mean, besides that its just a solid response..

I would say it wouldve been even better with a nice well bounced flash.

if that's a good example of a typical post on POTN, ppl who post there must be a bigger bunch of faggots than us (at OTAP). :o

If you don't eventually get banned from POTN, you're doing it wrong.

I looked all over the interweb for a side-by-side comparison of the two cameras noise levels at 800 and above, but could never find one.

Based on your statement, have you seen / found one? I'd be interested.

umm, everyone on there is right. The guy knows he didn't have the best lens, nor does he argue that.

He just showing a picture he took, that still came out decent, at iso 6400 and with the wrong lens.

If you are too stupid to understand that, then you deserve to be banned.

there is nothing impressive about the pic other then the ISO it was taken at, and the lack of noise.

aka, exactly what the thread is about. (well, was supposed to be about)

I owned one and I Ill say that the difference is there but I wouldnt say its "huge" really. I will say that the expanded ISO of 6400 on the MkIII looks a lot better than the expanded ISO of 3200 on the 40D

He said, "this is why I DO need a MkIII" (insert shitty pic).

Me, and people with half a brain, simply said that his reason wasnt very good. You could do the same type of low light photography and make it look a lot better for a considerable amount less.

what the fuck. How do you not understand the concept that he doesn't give a fuck about the picture or using the correct lens. He says many times that he knows he can do better with a better lens. Its not the fucking point.

all hes doing is showing you what the ISO 6400 looks like, and that since he DID NOT have the correct lens, he was still able to get a decent picture.

I'm sure I'll be banned sooner or later from POTN. It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

And I was saying if he did have the right equipment, hed save money and have a better picture. I dont find a 6400 picture a reason as why YOU NEED the MkIII...

He could have taken the same picture with a 40D and a 17-55 at 3200 ISO
    He could have taken a better picture with a 40D and a 35 1.4 at 800 ISO

Theres two other immediate options that would have cost less money and allowed him to get the shot.

I NEED a MkIII because I take action pictures in stupidly low light, stupidly cold weather, stupidly wet weather, stupidly dusty environments, etc...

You dont NEED a MkIII to take a horrible picture of a guy pouring some wine.
