it softens the light in general, but it's cool if you throw blood out in leaves or on carpet, it will show up well, so it's for tracking things that aren't quite dead yet :)

and quit calling it rice, every accessory i have on the gun, now, is top quality....initially i had a few extras that were questionable, but i had laying around so I figured what the hell.

I can't get over how light the surefire is....it weighs less than the batteries that go in it! and the laser is STUPID bright....I am going to get an infrared setup for the laser and I'm looking into an ITT PVS-14 night vision system for the gun as well. Everything is configured with the ARMS lever so I can reconfigure the gun in about 10 seconds flat, nothing wrong with that

Had a Viper, l sold it, am going to buy a condo in midtown atlanta and start a corporate reimbursed lease on a new car for daily driving. I was living in a corporate condo for a while so rent was a null issue, now they've offered to pay the lease on transportation (saves them money) and I've decided to bite the bullet and get some real estate.

decided to play with the rest of my monies, put half into investments and the other half into guns, I've spent about $8k so far. my 401k is worth about $15k and i'm 22 as of friday, dec 2nd.

I know what blue filters do but I just thought it was odd to have one on an AR :dunno: I have one for my 6P but I've yet to try it on blood because I can't find the fucking thing :hsugh:

Dude, you've never looked for blood on leaves with a blue light. I will tell you for a fact that the ONLY places blue light works for finding blood is when the surface that the blood is on is a light color.

We were looking for our patient the other night, he ran from S.O., and he had put his hand/wrist through a glass window in a door. Some arterial spray, and droplets all up and down the driveway, on the door, on his car, in his car, etc. Once he got on the grass, you can't see shit. Since he hadn't hurt anyone other than himself, SO stopped looking for him. Since he was somewhat violent, and SO wasn't looking for him, neither were we.

I have a SF Aviator with blue LED's. It's great for finding blood on the patient, and for finding blood in your truck. That's about it. And the blood only shows up as black spots, which could be anything. You need WHITE light to determine the actual color of the spots. Could be dirt, rocks, gum, anything dark. Don't overestimate the power of blue light. Real life is not what you see on CSI, where they spray Luminol on everything, then hit it with UV. It doesn't work that way with blue light. Just keep that in mind. Blue light also has the shortest throw of any color light, so you can't see that far with it.

good input, that's why you can flip the filter off if need be....i just had no reason for a red light or a beam shaper, both simply dull the light output, and blue does that well

    now i'm looking at infrared

Now I dont care if I find that filter or not :mamoru: I did notice that the throw was shorter than the red one also, I usually use it when entering the woods before daylight.

I think rice is unnecessary crap, not necessarily cheap or low quality. I like mall ninja better for guns though. I'd still take your desert eagle though :p
