UPS man came after work today, went out for about an hour and got some shots with it.

I took multiple exposures of this first one, to make an HDR, but every time I try it, it ends up looking way worse than the original.

This is my first piece of good glass (I have the 18-55 kit, sigma 70-300, and the nifty fifty). I am quite impressed so far. I really think im gonna bite the bullet and get the 70-200L 2.8 IS soon :noes: (was thinking the 100-400L, but I think I might eventually get the 400 5.6) any good suggestions on a good 24-70 lens? other than the 24-70L?

Pick up a Tamron 28-75 2.8. It's nice glass, I would have kept mine if I could.

    #2, #3 nice photos.

Nice little set man. :bigthumb: As long as you don't go overboard on the HDR for the first one it should be a print worthy shot.

when I go to do my HDRs in CS3, it says

"Merge to HDR: Files converted from camera RAW format may loose dynamic range. For best results use the original camera raw files"

I just open my photos in ACR (which loads when I open them in PS) Sometimes I tweak them a bit (then synchronize settings) and open the images, it also says it when I just open them through the merge to HDR box.

Im trying it again, ill upload it in a second, and maybe I can get some tips on what im really doing (im still a PS noob)

i like #3 with the ducks. i may need to pick up that 10-20 but at the same time im thinking about going full frame which would render the 10-20 useless.

    define pelfed.

All I did was bump up the contrast a little bit, and moved the sliders for contrast and vibrance to 17 (maybe its too much?)

    No filter :)

Still working on the HDR, When I goto convert it into 8bit, and goto local adaption (advice from a tutorial i was working with) no matter how I play with it, it either looks washed out, or ridiculously horrible, any tips on this?

Im using CS3, Where can I send it to? 7 images, at 1 stop intervals, do you want them all?

    I started with ISO 100, f/11, 1/50, to 2.5 sec shutter speed

Here is the HDR, most realistic I could get, I think the first version I posted is WAYYY better... any tips?

I seem to loose all the blues in the sky, and the greens in the grass/lake foliage

The green looks a bit neon and the sky actually looks cooler in the first one he posted. :dunno:

i'm sure its possible to get that in the HDR if you know what your doing, however, my hdr technique consists of moving sliders around randomly until i get the result I want

    crooked horizon = pelfed.

But I think it may be a little distortion with the lens rather than being pelfed.
