I went to a pro studio to discuss getting baby pics taken. I liked the samples that he showedme, and I thought the price for the package we selected was okay. I asked him at the end of our meeting what kind of camera he used, and he said he uses Canons. I then asked him why he chose to use Canons, and he said that Canons (compared to Nikons) take softer pics of skin and it's easier to PS stuff, and that nikons take sharper pics of skin, and needed more PS time.
    Is this true?
Im not sure if that's a good or bad thing for Canons? :o

    Sorry, I don't read moonspeak...

The photos are good, but nothing you probably couldn't have done with lights and a lot of prep time.

Sharpness, as far as I know, is a function of the lens and software sharpening, and if he's a pro the camera shouldn't be doing any sharpening, of course. He should be doing it in desktop software which is camera independent. And even if there is a difference between the bodies it would be so small that it wouldn't matter.

He might have been talking about the Canon lenses. :dunno:

    too sharp? Seriously?

HA! Take that Canon guys! Your bodies shoot soft! Nikon > Canon in sharpness!!!

I've heard of skin TONE differences in sensors, specifically the Fuji sensor, but sharpness...
