Hey guys, got a Toshiba 2435 and just tried using the s-video out. The tv at my residence only has rca inputs so I had to use an s-vid to rca converter. When I setup the laptop for dual display, it works, but the thing is the tv screen is in black and white! I cant figure out how to get it to go in colour. Any ideas? Also this computer rocks, looks sooo crisp at 1600 x 1200 :big grin:

hopefully it's just a bad S-V -> RCA converter, or cable somewhere (i.e. the color line is broken)? do you have any others to test with?

if not, you can go to radioshack, buy one, test it, if problem persists, return the cable you just bought and say it wasn't the right one.

More than likely a bad cable. Check the svideo cable between the laptop and the converter. I have seen some shady svideo cables in my day.

Make sure under the advanced settings its setup for NTSC and not PAL.

:werd: I had this same problem with a scan convertor I was using at home to watch divx movies on the tube and it was an NTSC/PAL issue.
