After the bad weekend with everything that happened to me, some brightness did come out of it.

Traded in my ole 170K miles on the original engine and trans Z34...

For something newer, about 1/4 of the miles, with leather, moonroof, and heated front drivers seat, and about a second and a half quicker in the 1/4 mile...

I like it a lot. I know that a mid 14 second 1/4 mile isnt a rocket, but it sure as fuck feels fast after driving a 16 second lumina around for 2 years. I <3 the heated seat. I'm going to be doing the conversion were both fron seats can be heated in the next few weeks.

Only mods I have planned are the Wizair intake, 3.4" pulley, u-bend delete, and possibly a DHP PCM. This car still has to be my daily driver, and I'm expeting it to last just as long as my lumina did. I'll take care of it. :noes:

I know to most of you guys (since everybody on this board drives a Z06 or a 550) doing a burnout from a roll is nothing major. But it sure is nice to be cruising at 15 miles per hour, poking the gas hard, and being able to roast the tires. Its not something I would do on a daily basis, but it sure is nice to know that if I need it, the extra power is there.

After driving this car for about 36 hours, I have to seriously ask myself why anybody would want a car that is faster than a 14.0 second car for a daily driver. This car is plenty quick for what I need to do with it. :hsugh:

    Enter GTP fanclub. :wavey:

edit: only things i've done to it, are debadge the rear (still have to get dealer sticker off), and disable the drl's. Now I get to go outside in the 13 degree weather with -7 windchill to put teh kappa rear speakers in it. :hsd:

riiiiiiight. and you drive a drafty, rollover-able optionless vehicle that just happens to be able to pounce through the mud and climb rocks? :coolugh:

    sorry.

    Negatory. Lincoln Towncar = big.

What do you drive? Just want to compare size. :hs:

Go ahead and buy 5 spare wheel speed sensors, since they go through about that many a year. :hs:

Also, prepare for interior rattles out the frame :o

I had a 97 Grand Prix GT that I built and resold. Jesus fuck I thought I would never get that car to stop breaking so I could fucking sell it. Anything that doesn't have an LSX from GM can suck my ass :fawk:

    Plus I don't like big cars :o

On the up side, they are reasonably nice cars. They have some nice options, autodimming rear view, outside temp and compass, decent stereo, steering wheel controls, etc. They're comfy on long trips too. I was dating a girl at Ole Miss when I had the GP GT, make the ride a lot more comfortable than in my Supra.

They sure as fuck don't live up to the marketing hype about handling well though :o

what other cars have the same s/ced engine as the gtp?

what're the stock specs on it?

how much of an increase will you get with the mods you said you'd do?

    how much do they cost?

Nice car, great choice. I love the s/c 3800, I don't have a GTP but I do have the engine from one in my Z24. :) The Mods that you have planed are great too, only thing I would add to the list would be a set of headers and a cooler thermostat. Have you checked out www.clubgp.com yet? Great board. Have fun with the new car and take it easy on all those rice rockets that you are going to chew up. :)
