I read through the recommendations posted in the other thread and was bored and decided to head to the only gun shop open that would have most of these in stock to check them out. I was mostly looking for a CZ Rami, G26 or any other small semi-auto. I ended up driving to Cabelas, to see what I would like grip wise, and then order it at my usual shop. Checked out the G26 which they had listed for $550 :ugh::rofl:. Then I saw a CZ Rami, in Polymer. They had it listed for $489, regular price but on sale for $419.99. Buds gun shop has it for $479, and MSRP is now $612. The price on the tag expired 12/31/08, but they guy writing it up didn't notice the date. Anyway, at the register it came up $559.99, but the cashier marked it right down to $419.99 with no problems. Anyway, I'm happy with the deal and really liked the feel of the gun. It was between this and a G26, but I just didn't like the grip on the Glock compared to the CZ. Anyway, two quick snapped pics.

I think if I like the way it feels and shoots, this will be my first sc pistol.

This thing is badass. Came with night-sights, snap caps, 14rd mags and an adjustable rear night-sight.

    badass, rami crew in.

there is more than 1 person so now its a crew.

thats cool you went with the polymer version, I considered it.

do you have an extended mag and a regular mag or two extended mags? I didn't really care about extended mag since I wouldn't be carrying it with one.

My next handgun will probably be a CZ of some sort. Let us know how she shoots! Did it come with night sights?

EAA Witness is commonly known as a CZ clone. The Witness Polymer Compact is extremely similar to a CZ Rami. Slightly longer grip and a tactical rail, but it's essentially the same gun.

    CZ Rami

:wavey: They only carried the polymer version. I figure if I'm gonna carry it, it'll be a little lighter that way. I like the aluminum or whatever version better, but what are ya gonna do.

It came with two 14rd mags. I really would like the standard 10rd and one 14rd. The display had the 10rd mag. I'll probably order some 10rds for carry.

Any recommendations on a carry holster for it?

nope, those are the specs for the full size or something... The Compact only has a 3.6" barrel and weighs 27oz. So it's slightly longer, but weighs about the same.

But my point wasn't whether they are within .01 inches of each other or not. It's common knowledge that the Tangfolio TZ's, the EAA Witness, the Norinco NZ, the IMI Jericho, the Armalite AR24, and even the Bren Ten are all CZ clones (along with a handful of other make/models). The CZs are great guns and those other companies know it. They have a good thing going, so why stop with the full-size?

Cool piece. Been wanting to play with one, but still haven't ran across any examples yet.

According to CZ, the polymer is only 1oz lighter than the aluminum version, which surprised me. I guess the frame isn't that big, so the slight difference in material weights isn't that big a deal. Polymer is a lot easier to cut up with a dremel, as opposed to aluminum so that's certainly a plus in my book ;)
