I wanted a bright flashlight. So I bought one.

    www.dereelight.com

Dereelight DBS V2, runs on one 18650 li-ion cell. 2hrs runtime on high, lots more on low.

Heres a pic some guy took of it shining the shoreline 1,000ft away :eek3:

Edit: I'm using these cells and charger

And you can buy the light from here: http://www.dereelight.com/new.htm

    Mine is a DBS V2 2SD

2SD means 2 stage---as in click once for high, click it again within 1sec for low-mode.

    3SD has low-med-high

DI from what I understand, you basically click the button repeatedly within one second of each click and the light steps up in brightness anywhere from 10%-->100%

OP and SMO are orange peel or smooth reflectors. I prefer the OP because its more "floody" the SMO reflector throws a bit farther though.

It'll dump 18650mAh in 2 hours? Does it get hot?

And if any of you are familiar with the Fenix lights.......this thing is several times brighter than my L2D-CE from 20ft.

Can you take a pic next to like a dollar or something for a size comparison? I can't tell if it's really big or medium sized. :o

That thing is bright though. Nice find.

How large is the head of the light? Pic with your hand around it?

I'm trying to figure if it would be too large for an officer to carry on duty.

Nice. I got a Cree C2 Q5 and it should be here any day now. Can't wait. :eek3d:

Completely unrelated, but didn't you do a PSMF some time ago? How did that work out? Keep it all off? :o

I don't have a T1 to compare it too but my limited edition Q5 L2DCE is rated at 175 lumens (the T1 is 210 or 215 I think) and it is several times brighter than the fenix.

And when it comes to throw, this thing will out throw the fenix by a couple hundred yards

    No comparison at all.

I did it for like 2 monthes and lost 25 or so lbs then quit because I had no energy.

I started lifting heavy and was getting strong when I injured my wrist on the heavy bag--then pinched a nerve in my back--then started a contruction job about a year ago.

We're slow as shit and I've been interviewing for other jobs for the last month or two so I hit the gym again and I'm weak as fuck

PSMF is good if you aren't trying to get strong while you're doing it.

The light was $145 for me btw (I chose to order both reflectors and a limited edition emitter which was an extra $20-25 iirc)

Not bad. I was considering doing it again (did it about a year ago for a week) but I dunno. I like food too much. :o I'd rather just eat a little more sensibly and exercise than give up solid food except for chicken and tuna. :o

:werd: That'll be hard for me, but the book says you need 1 day to carb up, so I might just make monday night (bowling) my night to kickstart my metabolism... with beer and hotdogs. :o

A lot of people are saying this is one of the best throwing LED's out there.

Besides all of the ridiculous modded lights with multiple LEDs or course

There's a ton of flashlights available that are like this one. I got a similar one. Anything with a Q5 Cree bulb will have output roughly the same as that assuming it's ran off two CR123 batteries or one similar to the one posted. You get a little bit longer life out of the single longer batteries but nothing huge. CR123 batteries are available pretty much anywhere (Target, Meijers, Walmart, etc. etc.) as they go in a lot of older digi. cams and stuff like that.

You can easily get a flashlight like that for say $40 to $65 depending on brand and what not.
