:wavey: finally got the black macbook i've wanted forever. I don't even know where to start. I figured OT was the best place to find out where to go next. Where do I buy accessories, and which ones are the most important to buy?

It would have been nice if apple would have made a bag for both MB and MBP. But i have swiss gear bag that i got from sams club. Good stuff.

I got a Brenthaven laptop backpack for my new MacBook Pro (picking both up from work when I'm down there next month). From what I hear, they're the best laptop cases and bags period (but at $100 for a backpack, they aren't cheap). I'd recommend a case of some sort (in fact I have a laptop bag you can have if you want from one of the many forensics conferences I've been to). Other then a case, maybe a wrist guard of some sort to keep the oils from the palm of your hands from staining the machine? Not much else I'd worry about right away.

That's prolly the way I'm gonna go. Where'd you get it, and how much did you pay? I've already gotta Ogio backpack with a padded laptop compartment, so all I need is the sleeve and i'm golden.

My boss has one on his MacBook Pro and likes it. Make sure you get the high quality ones. At Macworld last year there were two vendors selling them. One was just to keep from scratching the machine and didn't seem to have enough ventilation. The other was much more expensive ($70 or so I think) and they were demoing it by standing on the MacBook Pro with the case on and it wouldn't damage it (could support up to 200lbs I think). I'd spend the extra money to know it made the laptop pretty much crush proof (at least in a backpack, etc).

Some of the designs they offer are really cheesy. I wish they didn't have the design cover the Apple logo on the screen too. The other route I'd go if I was just worried about scratches is those stick on protectors like they make for the iPhone. It's not like these things scratch that easily. My TiBook is fairly scratched but not all that much considering it has over 5 1/2 years of use on it. My next machine (picking up when I get down to Macworld) won't be around as long.
