I got the Dana 44 rear and 30" Tire Package. My Insurance will go from $2,500/year on the GT to $1,200/year on the TJ.

I want to wheel it stock for now. Once I get my money out of the tires I'll probably go with a mild lift and some bigger tires. PLus underbelly armor of course.

I didn't pay for the Dana 44 just to drive it on the lawn. :bigthumb:

Nice Jeep! good choice on the Dana 44! I would do the same as you are planning on with the lift and bigger tires/wheels. Another thing to consider which I'm sure you have is a good winch.

    thanks guys.

I figured that on the nice days I would rather ride my bike than take the Mustang. That left the Stang for poor weather. Not the best care for rain and snow.

Plus I can't afford anymore speeding tickets, I think I'm a ticket or two away from assigned risk pool  .

So I did some thinking and figured that wheeling would take the place of speed. It sure is different being able to drive around without having to worry about being pulled over. I no longer use the cruise control to govern me speed

I don't even miss the acceleration of the stang, although I do miss the cornering speed.

It's all about give and take. I'm already checking out Paragon Adventure Park. No that looks like a good time!

    Nice job!

That D44 is going to save you so many headaches! Including the 3 months of fab work to get a cusotm one in mine

You need to sell those canyons for $500 over ebay, then the tires for $200 and piece together a lift.

Don't buy a kit. Kits suck. Its much better to start wheeling stock and figure out what YOU need.

5" lift and 35s for me :big grin:

Yeah I noticed that there's nothing but contempt for the factory tires. That's the only problem about buying in the summer. You can't order what you want. Every Sport I looked at had the Canyon package on it.

I had a 98 TJ...wish I had kept it. I had a 3" suspension lift with 33's. I HIGHLY reccomend the armor for that power steering box that hangs just under the front bumper. I hit mine on a tree and it pulled the arm down just enough to piss out all my power steering fluid on the trail. I didnt have AC so I hope for your sake that you got it!

Well it's not a real mod, but for my Birthday today I got the locking hood connectors. No more worrying about punks stealing my battery.
