Right now I have a linksys wireless b router that every few days craps out and has to be reset and re-do the set-up. I am looking for a good wireless router that will work with my DSL connection.

I think that Belkin is the best brand to go with when it comes to Wireless networks, D-Link is a good budget alternative.

I have a Gigabyte one and love it.
External antenna connection is a plus too.

unfortuantely most consumer based routers have their faults and bugs. i still recomend the wrt54g because of the third party firmware goodness that you can do with it

I currently have a linksys BEFW11S4. I know it isnt the greatest in the world, but why does it need to be reset every 3-4 days? Is it the router or something else. I don't mind spending $60 on a new one if it will correct the problem. But if it isnt gonna fix anything it would be pointless.

There is a version of the BEFW11S4 (or its sister router without switch) that seems to have this problem.

Load the latest firmware...
As odd as it may sound, turn on then off the logging function may also fix the problem.

If you still want a different router I second the vote for the WRT54G.

I read that, and did change firmware. It also said that it may not fix it, and lucky me it didn't.

I guess it is the wrt54g for me.

I have a Linksys WRT54GS. Works well. Added the newer Linksys firmware, plus HyperWRT, and works slick. Just check which version of the router you buy. Newer ones have less ram, thus you cant load as much stuff onto them.

yea rite. my belkin sucks, it craps out almost everyday. im on my laptop like 5 feet away from it, suddenly it wont receive/send data and i cant browse, cant reset my ip address, cant get to the router's menu. then i have to power it down and up again to get it to work... no belkin again ever. i had a wrt54g, crapped out like once a year for about 3 years. go linksys
