I need some examples of wedding photographers that blow you away. I've been looking at (*)(*) stuff and Ed Pingol. What other wedding Photographers are there that you would consider the best?

FYI, I'm shooting a wedding the first week in October. Popping my wedding cherry... yipes. I did some engagement photos for a friend. They liked em, they asked me to shoot their wedding. I said no, they begged for the next 2 days and I relented like a dipshit. My wife will be helping as lighting assistant and shoot director, and will be carrying a third body to fill out in areas where I'm not (while the bride is getting ready).

Here's some of the engagement pics.

I know they're kind of unimaginative which is why I need more inspiration for the wedding shoot. :o

1st one has some really strange shadows and the 2nd one looks extremely awkward.

    :dunno:

I can see you have much potential though.

Thanks. the hardest part doesn't seem to be the technical but making people look relaxed while doing something photogenic heh.

These were specifically for 4x6 inserts into the announcements, otherwise I might have tried for more candids, but the shooting location was their first date and there was a crap ton of people out. There were at least 5 other photogs shooting stuff there at the same time. I think there was a quincenera or two there too :o .

I'm reading through the POTN edu now :coold:

search "top 10 wedding photographers". They aren't necessarily top 10 (it's all subjective right?) but they are good at what they do so it's worth a look

I've been looking at jessicaclaire.com to see how she edits her photos.

storybyphoto.com has some great photos. I like looking at a ton of sites because they all have their own style.

Poses are meh, but the lighting is what kills it.

First one is just bad. Are you using off-camera lights at all?

2nd one the lighting is ok, but pose looks very forced.

From what I know, engagement pics are supposed to be spontaneous and fun. To show love, excitement.

These were specifically to send out with announcements. Engagement shoot might not be as good a description, but yeah I wish I could have taken in more of the background. Everything decent is cropped really tight because there were an absolute ton of people there :o

Lemme post some more but again they're almost all posed though.

I think part of the posing issue is that her mother was there...

It could be me too but ya know.

You can't be spontanious with your mother/mother in law there. Ditch her and take some new pictures!

The first one in the second set I posted needs a crop.
