Finally got around to getting this thing started.

    Getting the barrel pressed in:
It actually went pretty well, didn't go in too easily, didn't go in too hard.

Drilling the hole for the barrel pin. This steel is HARD.

Got the trigger guard most of the way on, got one more rivet to do, but I'm considering using a screw instead of a rivet, we'll try it out and see.

I REALLY wanted to take it home tonight and get it finished off, but we still need to weld the barrel extension on.
It'll be done soon, and I can't wait.

did you have to cut off the swell neck from those rivets? I think a screw would be a lot easier on all that rear shit.

Figure out whata you're gonna do for a finish yet? It better be done by Friday.

Yep, I chucked the rivets in a cordless drill and used a file to knock the bevel off.
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do for a finish. Todd thought I should just park it, and I guess it would be the best first step, if I like it, I can leave it that way, and if not, it will make a good base for some duracoat or whatever.
I'm heading back to Arlington tomorrow, for about a week, so I won't get around to working on it again for at least a week.

    This.

I wish I had a garage so I could get into stuff like this. Living in an apt ftl. I have barely enough room to store my guns.

    yep.
    Both.
They change with a single screw, the kit came with a folding stock, and I prefer fixed stocks on most rifles, so now I have both.
