My brother is looking to get a surround sound system for his place, he's looking for something with great bang for the buck. He doesn't need it to look good, size isn't an issue, doesn't care about brands, he just wants to get the most out of his money (college student). Any links to systems <$500 (if possible) are basically what he is looking for.

    Thanks in advance!

I bought a Philips MX 3900 D for $300 , Very Sexy Looking. Sounds real nice. Not booming loud but sounds good. I'm happy with it.. Wish I would have saved my money though. I like to spend every penney I earn.

Thats with a 5 disc dvd built in though.. You could get better quality if you just looking for a sound setup.
