I just wanted to get your opinion on this photo I took when I went to Tahoe two weeks ago. I know that to every dog owner the photos of their pets are beautiful when there really isn't anything inherently special. So is this a good shot or am I biased?

i like how the subject is ever so slightly offset and that the subject matter is completely in focus. also, the lighting (it looks like it's from in front and below the dog) and the brilliant red, i think due to the lighting, make for a bit of a surreal but nice photo. my only qualm is the red might be a little TOO brilliant, thus drawing the attention of the viewer to it a little more than the dog in general. If you have a chance to take another photo like such (i know it's probably candid so might be difficult), i might choose a different collar color..maybe a dark blue or even a purple.

    great shot :)

Bkg and subject dont' provide much contrast. Other than that, good job.

A little too dark for me, but it may be my crappy CRT.

Yeah, maybe blur the background and even maybe crop it a little, so that the dog is to the left more... just an idea. I like the shot though, and your dog is very nice :)
