    I'll start.

    Ar Tonelico 2.

Recently both got a reprint on Rosenqueen so they aren't super expensive on ebay anymore.

First one is pretty good, the 2nd one is fucking awesome if you like JRPG's though. Battle system is super unique and pretty complicated with the amount of things going. Downside is that the game is really easy.

Beat the 1st one a while back, about 30 hours into the 2nd one now. There are a few links between the two games but they aren't directly related, so you can play the 2nd and only miss some cameos and a few references you won't guy.

    Battle System:
    [y]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/I0VD2l0aseE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/I0VD2l0aseE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/y]

Basically you control your front characters with square and X, you use the character button with left,up,down, right to do different moves. Then each of those moves has 3 levels that you build as you level up the gauge in the bottom right of the screen. Two characters in the back build song magic. In defense mode it's like a Guitar Hero type timing system to guard, perfect nets you no damage and a huge increase in song magic %. Theirs 3 different super move types also. This video shows 2 at around 3 min. The way you "build up" to the 3 super type moves are all different but I won't go into detail.

Oh they have JP audio also, so you don't have to listen to retarded English voices like in this video.

Keep hearing about Odin Sphere, never see it in the used section though. Pretty much all good word of mouth.

Good game also, although it can get repetitive. It's pretty unique and the story and graphics is the best part.

It's an action RPG and it can get tough, esp. for boss fights. So don't play it if you get pissed easy :o

    I beat it 100%

If you're older than 20 and have never played Chrono Trigger, you should be banned from video games.

    :werd: Agreed.

Terranigma is epic  That whole 'series' (Soul Blazer, Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia) is awesome.

    This

Chrono Trigger came out when the only video gamers out there were nerds playing RPG's or the others who played NHL '95 for Genesis

I don't really get how you could have been into those 2 games and never even have tried to play it.

All good, I've played them all

Never played this one, I loved Shadowrun for SNES which was a steampunk rpg though. Is this similar?

Crono Trigger a RPG you probably haven't played? Seriously?

And Disgaea is pretty well known, especially with 2 and 3 and the handheld version of 1, etc. that have all ridden off the success.

:dunno: at the time I was basically just playing the games my cousin owned and I had no clue it even existed. At that age I was content with owning donkey kong, and shit. Although I was the one who introduced him to EVO, don't know how that one happened.

    Oh Ar Tonelico 3?

Yea I'm waiting for it to come out in NA, the battle system looks meh though. I like the unique style of 2, 3 is like a star ocean/newer tales of type battle system. I like those also but I would prefer something different :o

Also SMT: Nocturne although it's grown alot in popularity since Persona 3 and 4 came out.

Before then, it was $80-$100 used on ebay until the reprint last year, it's probably one of the hardest RPGs on PS2. Awesome game if you don't like the easy, hand-holding games that people have been accustomed to the past 5 years.

Yea that's in my queue of games to play.. I have about 6 more games to go to finally finish my PS2 backlog :o

Then Eternal Sonata, MGS4, Valk Chronicles, Star Ocean 4, Demon Souls, and a bunch of PC RPGs like Dragon Origins, Mass Effect 1&2, and some FPS like Bioshock :o

Then I want to rent games that aren't long enough for me to warrant buying but are still good. Like Uncharted 1&2.

    Not enough time :/

I remember following that game in Nintendo Power, and saving and saving my lawn mowing money to buy it the day it came out. I was sofa king excited. I think that was the most expensive USA cart ever, at $80

Game that got me into rpgs, even though it's more of an action/RPG style game.
