I want to get a record player. I have a lot of old (but good) records that have been given to me. I also want to buy a few trance vinyls to go along with it. I think it's a good idea because I'm going to college... Who is going to want to steal vinyls? But really... Any good ones for 150-200 dollar range? Would I pick speakers just like I would for any other CD player?

tough to find new turntables that are worth a crap in that price range. There are some Numark and Technics tables that can be had in that budget that might be just what you are looking for. More important than the table itself is the cartridge. Get the best one you can afford. Since the stylus is what contacts the vinyl, it play a tremendous role in what you hear - and it does the most damage. A cheap cartridge with a larger stylus/diamond will wear away more and more material every time you play it.

Check out eBay for decent deals on used TT's and cartridges.
