What's the best way to go about finding the best deal on a laptop for a college student / gamer on an $800 budget? I want to be able to fluently run multiple programs, and I would like to be able to handle Starcraft 2 when it comes out...

Should I find someone to help me put it together part by part, or is there a site other than Newegg that could customize something for me?

    Thank you!

Yea, that was just a sale a week or 2 ago for $6xx... What I don't get is the person who is doing the auctions didn't select the free upgrade where you get a second larger capacity battery for free (or they did and are selling the spare battery separately).

But, otherwise its a nice laptop. My gf bought one with a CPU upgrade option. Its a nice machine.

Sure does! I like the other one a little more, I've been overdue for a new computer for like 10 years... still using 512 MB of RAM

Must be able to run Starcraft 2 :x:

Although a nice laptop, that m1330 posted in yard sale will not do for gaming, especially not SC2, since it only has integrated graphics. CPU department is a bit lacking too.

I picked up one of these:

    http://www.techforless.com/cgi-bin/tech4less/FE818UA?id=riVMJmQS&mv_pc=559

From that site back in March, it was an open box deal for $662 including shipping. They will come up on a bing search so you can get like 10% cash back on that, which I did so it ended up being closer to $600. Anyway check that site out, they have some pretty sweet deals.
