Good idea to get a physical performed by a doctor before you start dieting/training?

if it's free, then yea. get it. if not... it's a matter of personal preference.

i'm a 19 year old college athlete, never broken a bone, never had any major injuries. i eat fairly healthy. if i had to pay for a physical... i wouldnt get it because honestly.. it'd probably be a waste.

Sure, if you like an old man grabbing your balls and telling you to turn your head and cough.

my last physical was with a 30 year old woman, she wasn't too bad looking. i remember sitting in the waiting room, seeing her, and hoping she'd do my physical. i did a lil dance when she called my name.

I don't know man, if I had some uber hot doctor touching me down there I might start saluting the flag, and that would just be a little awkward...

Its not a bad idea to get a baseline physical done while you're young, anyway. Have a normal EKG on record for when it starts to fuck up, etc. Since this is the "official" thing to do, and you're obviously thinking about it... just go and do it. Its kinda FUN to get a clean bill of health before you start improving it. Encouraging, actually, as you are about to pass out two days later on the treadmill ;)
