Good High Carb meal

    Ok soo the thing that sucks about high carb days is you get very little fat but I found a bombass way to do chicken and brown rice.


    I do bbq chicken (grill up a shitload of chicken breasts at once) + brown rice + red beans + franks red hot= the shit

    Thing that sucks is I have to count the grams of protein in the beans toward my total for the meal so I get less real meat cause 1 serving of beans has 22 g of carbs and like 9 g's of protein....but still well worth it. Lean and awesome...

    when you have to eat 6-7 meals of this shit a day, taste makes a huge difference lol.

    I make something similar that I just layer up in a bowl and chow down.

    layer 3/4 cup of brown rice (seasoned with salt, pepper, fresh lime juice)
    over that goes 1/2 cup black beans (seasoned with pepper)
    over that goes 8oz chicken breast (seasoned with taco seasoning)
    over that goes freshly chopped lettuce and cilantro
    over that goes verde salsa
    over that goes 1/4 cup reduced fat cheese
    over that goes hot sauce

    So unbelievably delicious. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but I seriously make this in under 30min and it's better than 99.5% of any mexican food I get at a restaurant.

    If I am bulking or if it's PWO I will go to 1c rice and 3/4 cup beans.

    microwave for fail!! chili beans, or cooking beans in hot sauce on stove = ftw

    rice is great, but why is no one into couscous or whole grain pastas?

    they are about 340 cal for a plate worth

    we def need a recipes sticky here!! with nutrition info for each recipe :)

    I wish I liked beans. But I do like sweet potato and lucky for me, chicken kitchen around here has sweet potatos that are MASSIVE and must be over 140g carb and massive fiber. Maybe more, dont know, they are like 9-10 inch long and like 12 inch girth, they are on steroids.

    yes home cooked beans are better but these Blue Ribbon red beans are so good even warmed up in the microwave...

    thinking of doing some chipotle spiced chicken tenders with some corn and black beans, or fuck it, maybe some kidney beans, throw that bitch in a wheat wrap

    I just use the low sodium black beans from the ethnic section of the grocery store and throw that in a sauce pan with pepper, dash of hot sauce, and fresh lime juice.
