What is a good full tower case? Its going to be air cooled running a slightly OC Q6600. I would like room for at least one GTX card maybe two in the future. A decent size CPU cooler. I bought an antec nine hundred based off of a friend's opinion. (yes killbane I'm talking about you!!) But after building a similar system for his friend he didnt like the case. So now I dont know what to get. I'm not really into the clear side panel glowing ricer blue neon. But since it seems like most new cases have it I know I can't get away from it. I was thinking about getting the cooler master cosmos. maximum PC magazine loves the case but other reviews online say that the HD bays run way too hot.

server cases are different. They do have some decent rackmount chassis.

Not a fan of their desktop cases, however.

I use their desktop server cases.. Love them. The silver 2509 typically. Also come with raid cages.

coolermaster centurion 5 is what I have. no windows. full tower. all black except 2 peices of aluminum. entire front pannel is perforated with foam filter material behind it to allow awesome airflow. uses 120mm fans. $50 on newegg. room for more shit than you could immagine. what more could you want?

I gotta disagree with Captain Potrost and the rest of the naysayers in here.

    That case is pure sex.

I made a thread about it recently, and got the same kind of comments you are getting.

But in case you hadn't checked yet, that case is huge.

 @ people who consider the case part of a good gaming build.

Kinda like people who "upgrade" the sparkplugs in their cars. It works or it doesn't; there is no "better". Does the case hold all your shit? Yes? Good. No? Get a new one.

Yet again you prove how worthless you are. Ever heard of a faraday cage? Every heard of EMF? Ever heard about grounding? Ever heard about heat dissipation? Ever heard about airflow? Ever heard about ease-of-service? Ever heard of style?

ALL of these are valid considerations when looking for a case.

You raise valid points, but none of them are gaming-specific. A gaming machine doesn't need a "better" case than an econobox does.

As for style...well...there's no accounting for taste. I like my Gigabyte GZ-X1, though if I were buying a new case now I might go with the Gigabyte iSOLO GZ-AA1CB-SNB instead.

Thanks for providing the clickable links. And yeah gaming rigs do need better cases than a soccer mom's dell. She isn't going to running huge video cards and overclocking, so the air flow and easy of installtion isn't important on a econobox. I'm not a brand fan boy I just want a well designed and built case with room that doesn't look like a transformer.

You are such a tool. Gaming machines are put under more stress than an econobox... They push the limits further, and those points are MORE valid on a gaming rig than an econobox.

I'd still keep the 900 in mind, as it does an execellent job of keeping things cool, and you can often find it on sale for <$100. If the blue lights are an eyesore, you can simply swap out the led fans.

Validity is qualitative. There's no such thing as "more valid".

All computers need EMF protection, structural rigidity, and ample airflow. Cheap computers appear to tolerate the lack of these qualities only because other factors play greater roles in choking their performance than the quality of the case does.
