I am going to be taking Photography I (which is recommended class for my major) and I need a film camera. What do you suggest, I don't want to spend a lot. I would be cool if i can use my 17-50 tamaron Nikon lens but not necessary.

you won't be able to use the tamron on a film camera, the tamron is made for a crop body not a full frame.

Something cheap that will last for 10 weeks and then be right back on craigslist.

i bought a used nikon n90 and used my nikon lenses with it. but your lenses can't be DX lenses like that tamron.

    just get yourself a n80 or n90 and a 50mm f/1.8 af-d

Canon AE-1, Pentax K1000, Olympus OM-1/OM-2 (what I use) are all great cameras that won't break the bank if you search on ebay a little.

i really want to see what camera equipment my grandpa had in his basement. if he bought camera equipment like he did anything else, he's got absolute top of the line shit and its in perfect condition, just 30+ years old.

I picked up an EOS 1-v, I am happy with that, but I would agree on the pentax, those cameras are quite sweet! or something by Nikon that will accept your current lens selection.
