    awesome read

    http://www.fightline.com/news/2008/325/fedor_emelianenko_319884.shtml

he's polite and humble as always, but gives a new insight on the man

apparently, he used to drive one of these only a few years ago until the governor bought him a Land Cruiser:

as an aside, the interview includes Aleksander speaking about his tattoos:

    Wut?

wasn't Aleks part of a mafia type thing or was that just bullshit. I never really googled it so it's a complete uneducated question.

As well, the origin of his tattoos that i posted is verbatim what he said :hsugh:

i cited books where other people cited friends :mamoru:

Well you just did research, but that goes without saying a good lie is one that has evidence of being not true. I just doubt he would put so much effort to lie about his tattoos all this time if it was true, although he is a scary ass mofo. I was shocked to find out the Yakuza had ties with Pride, so stranger things have happened lol.

i said that they were mafia related from what i've read from other forums, but everything i learn on the topic is heresay (including what i read here)

i believe kuet said that his friend's dad was old school mafia and confirmed the tats origins

however, stuff like the stars on his knees meaning "never kneel before somebody" may still have mafia origins, or that maybe that these tats are very prominent in the russian mafia :dunno:

it may be that if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

she doesnt, so she's still my aunt.

i wasnt trying to freak out, i maybe did, but you have to realize even though you have read reports on such things, it doesnt mean they are 100 % correct.
The people often involved in those types of reports base their whole thesis on facts that they know, and the truth behind them. They are however limited to the facts that they found out about, im sure in any kind of report similar there are many truths missed and others misinterpreted.

All i was really trying to say before was from what i have heard, only gang members have tattoos as such, and yes they get them im jail, and very often are people recruited out of jail.
Its kinda like how everybody and their dog gets chinese style tattoos
( like dragons, coi fish, any one of the buddahs or gods ect... )
    Those are gang related tattoos.
Now anybody can go and get a tattoo that is a "gang" tattoo, does not mean there are in a gang.
But in the original country where they are from, it is a different story.
For example people born and raised in hong kong/ china; the only kind of people that get tattoos such as those are gang members.
Its kind of hard to explain, but i will say i was wrong about if the person has the tattoos they ARE a gang member.

oh and very good read. I always enjoy reading about fedor, he seems to be such a humble and simple man with a very strong code of morals and ethics in which he lives by. Its very hard not to respect him.

  14. I as well said it, in addition to posting this pic of a high-ranking Russia mafia member.

Now, if you don't think that some of those tattoos could still have those meanings and be mafia tattoos... I don't know what you're smoking.

Maybe they're just common in russian prisons among hardcore felons, who knows.

    Here's some more information:

    http://ill-use.com/2007/tattoo/lifestyle-gang-tattoos-around-the-world/?nggpage=2

So either Aleks is entirely unoriginal and just got the same prison tats all the other Russian prisoners did, or he is following the approved symbology of russian mafia/prison tattoos.

    now you're getting it :h5:

the history of russian prison tattoos dates back pre world wars. For the most part all tattoos in russian prisons are repeated by everyone since there is such strong history to the meanings. And have been for decades and decades.

the logic you are using is that a mafia guy has stars on his shoulders, so it has to be a mafia tattoo. dumb dumb dumb

so now i'm confused -- are you guys arguing the origins of the tattoos or whether or not aleks is mafia affiliated?

i'm sure tribal designs mean something, but it doesn't mean that every douche that has a tattoo of one is in a tribe :o

he was saying previously that Aleks was in the mob and has the tattoos to prove it. i informed him he is a gossipy woman and the tattoos had no mafia connection.

his only logic is that since one guy in the mafia had a tattoo that aleks has then they must be mafia tattoos.

I posted historical meaning of tattoo from one of the multiple books i have on the subject.

he now thinks mafia tattoos are the same thing as prison tattoos :dunno:
if so i think i know a bunch of cholos that live down the street that are in the mafia :noes:

    exact same knee stars

after extensive research, these are the tattoos they decided to give Viggo Mortenson to play a russian mafia member in the movie "Eastern Promises".
    Nice shoulder stars, Viggo.

The chances that Aleks just randomly came up with these tattoos is exactly zero. He either got them by being affiliated with the mafia, or in celebration/recognition of his criminal acts and prison time.

where does it say the stars are mafia related?
what is so hard to understand that every prison tattoo is related to previous crimes and/or tenure in prison?
and thank you for posting a book i own that had no relevance to anything you are posting. If you read that book you would see hundreds of tattoos, that are for the most part the same 20 things. one of which is stars on the knees and shoulders.

  23. so if you're so sure those aren't mafia tattoos, what would the russian mafia tattoos look like?

    or are there none?

    Is that an elephant?

    no, that is a dog.

If that's a dog, then what's an elephant look like?

I don't know, look it the fuck up yourself.

  25. :ugh:

    aren't you the expert?

don't you have all the books there on your shelf?

I'm just asking you this because you said you knew all about it, and that I'm wrong, so I want to know the right answer.
