Cheap, easy to learn to load and shoot.

You should really think about getting a shotgun instead.

Agreed. Look at a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500. Both inexpensive and reliable. I prefer the 870 myself, but the 500's aren't bad shotguns either.

Yeah, if you want a cheap gun that fails to eject and/or feed, go for that.

but i thought a ruger would last forever? even if you sent it to the bottom of the ocean and back, poured acid on it, and then shot it with a tactical warhead.

its normal maintenance to clean a gun every couple hundred rounds to keep it in order. This is normal for any make and model of gun.. I can believe that they are stooping to this new low to try to bash Ruger :greddy:

I thought someone might get a kick out of that. I want to try out a Hipoint and/or Jennings (anyone in the Atlanta area with one?)

OK stop knocking Rugers so much....I know I know.... I had fun with it too. Some people have personal preferences and that is what makes us all unique. But someone put a sig or CZ in that man's (Y2KAccord) hands and watch him start saving his pennies to buy one.

If you are looking for inexpensive, I would get a Makarov. Very reliable and they can be had for around $175.

Or go around to pawn shops and gun shows and find someone selling a used S&W revolver. Model 66 is good and you should be able to get a really good used one for $250 or so. Even with old ones that looked beat to hell, I have NEVER experienced an issue with a revolver not firing when you pull the trigger.

But if it is for home use only, then I'll have to agree that a good shotgun would be a better choice.

for home only, get a shotgun or a revolver. Load, and never have to worry about it.

I have never fired a CZ, and dont doubt that I might like it, but the new low of saying that Rugers are crap because I clean mine is just dumb
