My new years resolution is to get back into shape and be healthy again. Currently about 5'9.5 and been hanging around the 160-165 mark, and although i'm not really fat I can see the flab and such and I want to get back into shape. I will be doing cardio 4 or 5 days a week (schedule pending) with bit of working out (don't really care about getting broly, just want to be in good shape. My goal is to drop back down to around 150-155 but be a lot more healthy and fit.

My concern is that I don't have the time to cook a lot, and perishable items usually go bad before I get the chance to use them up :hs: I also do not have a ton of money. So my question to you guys is what kind of diet would fit about what my goals are and at the same time not break me?

Thanks for the help guys

If you wanted it, you would make time to cook and right after cardio it would not say "schedule pending." Either do it or don't. Chicken is cheap at Sam's.

I take 15 hours a semester and work 30-40 hours per week yet still have time to study, cook 5 meals a day etc... If it was easy to make time everyone would do it. Go to walmart, stock up on chicken breasts, egg whites, tuna, lean ground beef, whole wheat bread, oats, sweet potatoes, and water. You can use a foreman grill to cook all of it but the eggs

any particular way you cook it, in terms of spices and such?

I eat a lot of rice with my food, and I could have sworn i remember someone mentioning a rice that was actually good for you but I cant remember what it was :hs: I guess its time to stock up on chicken and rice

from what I understand white rice isn't healthy for you. Can't remember if its any brown rice or any kind of specific rice.

Just seems like no food whatsoever. I came close to your entire intake with just one of my meals today. 18 oz steak plus mac and cheese and a big glass of milk > your whole day

Ron Coleman only eats 4 meals a day off-season :dunno:

Watching The Cost Of Redemption makes you wonder how he packs on so much size with such small meals...

Are you in dorm housing? Or off-campus with a kitchen?

Easy and quick stuff that doesn't spoil:

    oatmeal
    protein powder
    tuna
    canned chicken
    peanut butter
    rice
    beans

    etc etc

Find somebody with a Costco membership or make a Wal-Mart run. I've lately been seeing designer whey at Wal-Mart even; and they're dirt cheap for good supps like fish oil and vitamin C.
