I don't know why people still have a hard on for hydra shocks. They were alright rounds but they have been eclipsed since the design of the bullet is old. I'd encourage you to read this http://www.firearmstactical.com/hwfe.htm and look at gel tests yourself. If you want federal rounds the HST is a better round than the hydrashock. I personally like the 147g ranger t, the ra9t though for a bit more penetration.

To my understanding most sabot slugs aren't rifled and aren't good for use in smoothbore. Personally I think you'd be better served by 8-9 .30 cal balls going at someone that one massive piece of lead. I'd recommend you buy a few packs of #00 buck and #1 buck in a few different brands, including low recoil, and pattern them all and see which one makes a nice tight pattern on your gun at the distance of your choosing. Personally I have federal low recoil 00 buck and low recoil slugs because I think the buck patterns pretty tightly and both allow me a faster follow up shot.

IMO, you would be better off with Gold Dots or Ranger T
