Hey guys, interested to hear if this is a good deal, and if I should hop on it!

    Nikon, AF-s Nikkor 70-300 1:4.5-5.6G VR

A friend has it, and is looking for $400.
She has had it since November, and has been hardly used.

    mostly outdoors/nature.

I shoot roller derby every now and again, which Ive read this lens will be no good for, it suffers in dark and fast motion.

I sold mine for I think $350 in like new condition with box a few months ago. I was not really that impressed with it, I think the non VR version is better (as far as price vs value) adding $400 for VR is lame. I found on my D80 70-300 really under exposed shadows and over saturated highlights. I know many people take good pictures with it, I was not one of them, I always found it leaving me wanting more.

Tree's don't run away, get a 35mm prime and do it up.
