GUN Good choke for short range Doves?

    We will be hunting near a water tank and most of the shots are under 40 yards.
    I am using #8 shot.
    (First time dove hunter.)

    I've shot millions of dove with the standard (full?) choke. For dove and quail, we never changed the chokes.

    I'd use a #8 shot with cylinder bore for up to 20 yards and the same #8 with a Mod. Choke for 40yrds. #8 1/2 would be ok under 30yrds.

    wow. that's a much better answer than mine! All these years of shooting dove and I never thought about the choke. :hs:
