My 91 F150 has 271k on it, 150k on the new short block... Original tranny still.. Must be decently reliable :dunno: 302 ftw

Full size or Compact? 2wd or 4wd?

95-98 Chevs with the 305 V8 are good reliable full sizers.

95.5-97 Tacomas with the 2.7L I4 or 3.4L V6 can be had for next to nothing and last a long time with minimal maintenance as well.

the 95.5-97 tacomas with 3.4L have problems with the headgasket and rear main seal. The 01-04 3.4L are the good V6's

Don't forget about the S-dimes for a very reliable, yet inexpensive vehicle.

Don't forget about the Frontier for a tacoma-like reliablity without the toyota-like price.

If a 95.5-97 is still on the road now, the headgasket will have been fixed by the TSB that was issued to resolve it.

The 98-2000 V6's are just as good as the 01-04's; the headgasket issue was put to bed in 98.
