Me and my friend are going back to his place for a day or two of just shooting and bullshitting and having a good time. I am going to get my Marlin 336 all sighted in and make sure it's accurate, but all I have is cheap ass Wolf ammo for it right now. What ammo should I get a box of at Dick's or Walmart, the only local place to buy ammo is way far out? I want the most accurate ammo I can get to get my gun accurate.

Remington or Winchester should be fine I guess?

remington, winchester, federal, etc. I don't think I've ever really seen any "premium" ammo for a 30-30. You could also try Hornadys new LEVERevolution stuff. My brother said walmart had some federal softpoints for $9.99 a box yesterday.

I have a chance to pick up a 336 locally for 250ish.. apparently unfired, or at least LNIB.. always wanted one.

I like it alot. The lever can be difficult at times, but that's it. It's easy as shit to take down and put back together again.

don't get the most accurate ammo to sight it in, get the ammo that you'll be using the most or to hunt with. Can't remember if you're putting a scope on it, but use the ammo that you'll shoot the most or to hunt with. Not necessarily the most accurate.

They don't exactly make target loads in .30-30, it's pretty much all designed for hunting.
