I bought a seagate 100 GB hard drive and I PDF'ed the macworld directions on how to upgrade the hard drive. its gonna probably take a day or two but I really want the storage capability.

I'll tell everyone how it goes.

oh yea, the only thing i worried about is using UNIX for the first time and fucking everything up.:noes::noes::noes:

apple added xvid to quicktime components (as if it wasn't available before:rolleyes:)

that would be sweet to see it supported on the apple tv, i might buy one then
or i could just get this thing : [link]

yea, the largest right now is a 200GB drive and you have to also remeber that the apple TV is also a mini heater by the way its pumps out the heat.

how did you do it??? I mean, I mean, the more I study the process the more it differs on part 2. several used iPatition to open up the media part of the drive, several just plugged the drive back into the apple TV and did a factory restore, & several are opting for the terminal route.

I think I'm gonna take the plugging the drive back into thr apple TV and doing a factory restore route.

hopefully this works and I don't have to use my "found" copy iPartition or the terminal.
