unfortunately it's not anything fun or anabolic. It's copaxone, a treatment for my MS. The treatment I was on was pulled by the FDA several months ago, so I've been without treatment for a while. They finally got me through on copaxone to keep me from having as many MS attacks until Tysabri comes back.

it's sub Q, and I have an autoinjector for it. very easy.

MS = Multiple Sclerosis, an attack consists of your immune system deciding to attack a spot on your central nervous system, resulting in de-myelinization and a lesion (or sclerosis) on the brain or spinal cord. The symptoms of the lesion are determined by it's location, and what body system is controlled / regulated by that area of the CNS. It can cause any number of physical symptoms. So far all my lesions have healed properly with little scar tissue, so my symptoms have not been permanent.

dude it's cool I didn't know shit about the disease before I got sick.

They don't know what causes it. There's not enough evidence to show if it's genetically related. Nobody in my family has it. There's no cure, and some people's MS will advance to the Progressive stage over time even if it is treated.

I have Relapsing-Remitting, which means I have an attack, but then it stops and gives my body a chance to heal. Progressive, the attacks never stop.

Meh. It ain't so bad. I'm actually in better shape now than I've ever been in my life. Modern medicine has come a long way in treating this shit, if I had been diagnosed just 10 or 15 years ago there would have been NO treatment options.

When my real treatment, Tysabri, comes back, I'll be doing good. It's powerful shit and you only have to get shot up once a month.

How come FDA pulled Tysabri off the market? Sounds like a stupid thing to do if it worked treating MS.

In some of the clinical trials, they combined Tysabri with Axonex (Interferon Beta) and the combination over a long period of time made a few people succeptible to a very very rare CNS viral infection called PML. 3 people died before they figured out what was going on, and the FDA pulled it because they wanted to make sure nobody else was at risk.

Luckily the data is showing that Tysabri is totally safe by itself and should be coming back pretty quck.

Atleast they found out Tysabri itself wasn't the problem...any idea when you'll be able to use it again? Seems to be better overall treatment and only one injection per month.Hopefully its back soon and you'll be better in no time.

they just gave the go-ahead to restart clinical trials on Tysabri. It shouldn't be too long now, maybe a couple months.
