what gyms are good?
stupid mandalay bay is full- i'm at the suxor, err luxor.
Nicey nice.. I'll be in vegas this coming sunday till weds for a convention. I'll be drinking my face off and forgetting what a gym is/looks like. I suggest you do the same.
check my log, I was just in Vegas.
There is a Gold's about 15min off the strip where Mark Swank has a powerlifting team. Other than that, most places will have something you can use... but everything is going to cost you. The nicer places are upwards of 20 dollars a day.
yeah last year i worked out in the mandalay bay hotel and was hungover working out two days
maine, where did you stay? I'll probably hit the golds
yeah i'm going to an IT conference oct 21-25
all expenses paid y0!
theres really no point to lift while in Vegas. chalk it up as a nice off week with lots of binge drinking and money loss.
I was just in vegas too, got back Monday. I took the time off. The Caesar's gym was 35 bucks a day.
best 4 days of my life
You're going to Vegas and you're worried about a fucking gym?
igo... being as I ball hard, I was at the Venetian
Here's my best advice. Don't play cards. Bet horses and games (assuming you know how to do this). Any decent sports book is all you can drink, just tip the beer bitch. Treasure Island has a nice sports book and the GnT's are strong... this is also the reason why I pissed in the closet of a $500/night suite
If you don't know how to bet the ponies... Harrah's has some $10 black jack tables and comp'd drinks. If you get into Casino Royale before 8 you can get on $5 black jack. Be wary of Casino Royale, though. Its a shithole and there was some shady dealing going on (i.e. I lost $400 in 8 minutes, and everyone I was with busted out... but the locals sitting at my table didn't lose a hand)
everyone has their own games in vegas. i personally love pai gow. it's slow as hell, and you can get 5-6 drinks without losing over $50. roulette, blackjack, and hold em is coo too. going right before new years. can't wait. eff the gym for those 4 days.
Last time I went, I used the Mandalay Bay and Golden Nugget spas to work out. They don't have much, but it's something. Mandalay Bay has some sort of weird lighting. Oh yeah, there are some situations where you can see the women in the spa.
thanks for the info. fucking mandalay is baller as well, but they're booked.
I'll be playing blackjack, and some roulette, and would love to play craps. Drinks are free anywhere you play pretty much.
I need to find bars and clubs that won't charge $35 bucks a head like last time, where i spent like $200 bucks hopping around till the early hours.
btw - just because the hotel is full doesn't mean you can't use the gym/spa. It's just a short walk
If you dunno how to play craps... a lot of casinos will do dice lessons in the morning... just FYI
you need to flash your room key to get in.
Try the golden nugget, then. They allow people from other hotels.
anyone want to recommend a club to go to when i go in a few months? i've been to tao and pure so far. tao was a lil bourgeo, but a very nice club, especially the roof part. pure was alright. i was thinking rain or tangerine next. thoughts?
Go to guest service and get a players card (one persons name only). They may give you freebies right off the bat. Ask for copies of the card and give it to your friends, girlfriend, wife, etc. Playing with that one name will build you credit fast. It can also work across different casinos since they tend to have common owners. They will start to send you mail giving you free rooms, free play, and BUFFETS!!!
I got 3 days completely free at the Bellagio. Food, room, $200 of free play. My view from the 16th floor
Lobster Tail and Filet Mignon
Nothing is free in Vegas
Ya but how much money were you actually gambling?
You're going to spend money in vegas no matter what, why not build up rooms and food while you're at it.
It doesn't seem like much at all. I know alot of them just start mailing out rooms with very little played. They still make their money. My mom gets rooms for places she hasn't been to in years.
Casino War at the Hard Rock! I won like $300 playing that. Also if you can find a military person to get you on base you could work out at Nellis for free, but it's in North Vegas.
is the players card basically a loan? i heard about this- one of my account managers opened an account for $1million in the borgata to get free perks, but rarely dips into it to cause him issues
I paid an outrageous daily rate for the gym at the Flamingo the last few times I've been in Vegas for trade shows. This time I'm taking the week off...
My company covered my drinking and strip club excursions but wouldn't foot the bill for the gym usage; -go figure.
