I'm going to NYC for a few days next week and I'd like to get some cool shots of the city while I'm there. I really don't plan on leaving Manhattan so I'll have to find some cool places in the city.

Do any of you know some cool places to take pictures? Is it easy to get access to high buildings/roofs to get some cool views?

When I went there were some good views of/from Central Park.

I was thinking about making this thread like 2 days ago, but decided against it because NYC is not very photogenic :o

empire state building lets you go to the top...if its not cloudy, you can get great shots.

i'd go to central park, washington square, times square (obviously), and liberty island. those will be your more NYC-ish shots.

top of rockafeller center. youll get a good view of downtown manhattan from there and central park on the other side. this is a good one beacuse you can get the empire state building in the shot.

^^ what he said. i like going to the 'top of the rock' much better than the top of the empire state bldg.

NYC has turned into a police state for street photography. Expect to be hassled unless you are in a tourist spot taking tourist snapshots.
