Well what i currently drive and what i want are two different animals. One is a crazy rev happy jap and the other is a 6 liter gas happy american hog.
i own a 2007 Civic Si Coupe, and don't get me wrong it's a blast to drive and i have no regrets getting it but it just doesnt make enough TORQUE. ive had my fair share of underdog kills with it and it handles great. (autox'd it and have matched times with some stock STi's.)

so now comes the reason im here. i want an 06 GTO. The power is clearly there as well as the TORQUE. i know the LS2 is a good motor and the tranny is good for plenty of extra power. Now, what have you guys learned from experience with this car. (quality of build, typical faults or recalls.) keep in mind tell me about the 6.0 not the 5.7. Thanks.:wiggle:

Bad paint (peeling or no clear coat applied) happened to a batch of 06 GTOs.

I liked mine but I don't really miss it.

I've heard about the clearcoat as well, and the 6-speeds have problems with the shifter assemblies. Replacement is pretty expensive. Otherwise, the LS2 is bulletproof as is the transmission. Build quality really isn't bad. IMO they don't FEEL that fast but they are. My friend has one and loves it.

Cons - hard to get in the back seat, tiny trunk, clutch and suspension rattling, expensive parts (aside from the powertrain), can't accomodate wide tires without rolling the fenders

    Pros - everything else

I still want one of these but haven't been able to find any decent low mileage examples under 18... which is pretty ridiculous considering how cheap dealers were selling the ones they couldn't get rid of in 07-08.
