So what can yall tell me about cp Humphreys
infantry and going to humphreys?
what do you want to know?
they have a water park
its fairly close to seoul and far away from the ash and trash of camp casey and 2ID bullshit
you are also about 45min subway ride from the hotties at OSAN AFB
lucky. i'm at casey and it's meh. the hump is supposed to be a lot nicer, newer buildings, yada yada. they are building it up in anticipation of moving everything north down there.
SECOND TO NONE!!!!!!
"going to korea" is kind of like experiencing the death of a parent
Was in korea 97 - 98, and almost had to go back this year. Thank god the wife had heart surgery and I was able to get my assignment changed.
Sucks for you.
Yeah; the hump is the biggest army post on the peninsula. Big gym and nice facilities for the most part. Taxis only take dollars there now and it is a absolute rip off. Far from seoul, not much to do in Pyeongtaek last time I check.
Fuck being anywhere but Seoul man.
Humphrey is fine. It's like 20 minutes, not 45, from Osan, and like 45 to an hour from Seoul. Anjung-ri will treat you okay. Worse places to be.
Im reclassing and am projected on my erb to go to Humphreys. any way i can get out of it?
Talk to branch.
if the erb works anything like an orb..your assignment isnt reflected until you are signed into thte unit
where do you want to go?
humphreys is about the best you can get as army..the location makes it better than yongsan...head out to ajou university in suwon and goto the top floor of hwa hong hall..all of the international exchange students live on that floor (i used to live there in 2002 )
there are many nice bars on that road and no CPP, but then again they are phasing out curfew...soon you can head out to namdaemoon market and do midnight shopping
if they phase out curfew i will be visiting japan and taiwan and singapore.
well it says projected ask one of your nco's in your unit to explain it.
Curfew just means you have to be back on post by midnight. You could still take leave and go wherever you wanted, though. Unless you're planning on hitting up those places without taking leave, hitting them up after work, and then being back for PT in the morning, curfew has nothing to do with you visiting those places.
i was talking about more on the weekends.
get a juicy girl
Well, curfew wouldn't have anything to do with that. If you wanted to cover your bases (and be smart, because you never know when flight cancellations/delays would come back to bite you in the ass) you'd still take leave whether or not there was a curfew. It's not like they do bed check or anything- curfew just means if you're caught walking around town after midnight, you get in trouble. It doesn't mean you have to be in your own room or anything. Lots of people get hotel rooms and sleep there on the weekends anyway.
What I'm telling you is curfew has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you want to go to those places.
curfew isn't until 0300 now...
I haven't been there since 2006, but what would that possibly have to do with the issue. The point is you still either bounce on what should be leave or don't- curfew has nothing to do with it.
when I was assigned to Korea, my orders had me projected to Humphreys. I was diverted at the replacement center. All personnel coming into Korea have to funnel through the replacement center in yongsan (unless things have changed)...your projected assignment isnt always the place you end up...needs of the army type of crap
also look into the BOSS trips offered. They routinely had 4days to Russia and China and they were quite cheap too
same thing here, was held at yongsan instead of humphreys. thank god for that. regardless of where u go you'll be here in seoul for a week then off to your new home, unless they've changed it again in the last year.
the trips can be fun, unless you have short notice and S2 routinely loses stuff
i want to be stationed in korea
i just left humphreys on my second tour there. korea really is what you make of it (get away from post.)
i love it there. met my wife there and plan on moving back when i get out.
