From what I've seen with a skilled photographer, this lens works great. What other glass do you own?

canon 10-20 is pretty sharp for the crop sensor

the Canon 10-22? I've heard nothing but GREAT things about it.

I went to Ireland with a widest focal length of 28 and really needed something wider. 10-22 would have been awesome.

Get the Tokina 11-16 instead. The extra stop WILL be invaluable. It's sharper, cheaper and built better, too. Oh it comes with a Lens hood, unlike the Canon.

i would love to take a 70-200 for candid shots and not look like some typical tourist from yankeeland

Yeah, because a white telephoto wouldn't make you not stand out at all... :ugh:

To the thread starter, The 10-20 would be great for most things. If you had anything longer, bring it just in case you need some zoom.

I rented a 10-22 for a week and loved it. I looked back at my EXIF data and 90% of the shots were taken at 10mm... lol

Yes, shooting wide is addicting, especially in Europe. Definitely recommend getting an ultra wide. I use the 10-22 on my 20D and am very happy with it.

I took my 10-22 and 17-70 to greece with me, for touristy stuff I didn't miss the 70-200 I didn't see much use for it anyway if I were going for a few weeks though I'd bring it. I probably used the 10-22 about 40% of the time and its nice b/c in a big crowd you can get really close to something and still get your shot

I went to Europe with my Sigma 10-20mm and it worked very well. although I also had my 18-55, 50mm and 80-200... but i'd say my 10-20 was on most of the time.

I am in Rome now, have been since sept... been to europe multiple times. I use my 10-22 and 28-135 95% of the time. I'll post example pics later, right now I'm on a bottle of vino rosso and too tired

I think all these were taken with the 10-22. I just did these like 2 days ago.
