    I was going to buy an XSi, but somehow ended up with a D90, and now D300 in addition to it.

    Nice starter camera. The photography class you take might be only black and white film, so the DSLR might not be used for that, but it would still be good to take. I'm enjoying mine right now.

    i found this course i can take, think it would be a good choice for me?

    It doesn't specifically state itself as a digital or film class, so you might want to email the professor or something like that before you buy a camera specifically for the class

    I bought an XSi a cpl of month ago (my first SLR cam). Very happy with it :)

    it says digital photography right there in the course description...

    It would be a good one , yes. With digital, half the battle is done in the pp.
